What is a Citizen Savings Account?

The Savings Fund is designed to grow the value of Mongolia’s natural resource revenues and provide meaningful support to every citizen’s quality of life. As part of this system, a Citizen Savings Account has been created for each Mongolian citizen, which can later be used for essential needs such as healthcare, education, and housing. 

In 2024, accounts were created for 3.5659 million citizens, and as of the first half of 2025, 175,400 MNT has accumulated in each account.

How can I use my savings? 

Savings in the Fund will continue to grow through investments until 2030. Once a sufficient balance has been accumulated, citizens will be able to use their savings starting from 2030, for healthcare, education, or housing-related expenses, in accordance with government regulations. Accounts are created automatically for all citizens, and the opening, registration, and permitted uses of these accounts are governed by a resolution approved by the Government. 

How can I check my savings account?

You can view the balance and returns of your Citizen Savings Account, including the accounts of your children under 18, through the “Chinggis Khaan Sovereign Wealth Fund” section within your profile on the E-Mongolia digital services platform.
